What is REVLITE SI treatment?
RevLite SI is an aesthetic laser machine that sends pulses of energy into the skin. Treatment using this device targets pigmented cells or melanin and breaks them down into smaller pieces. This helps your body flush them out easily. The machine can also be used for hair removal as it targets hair follicles to prevent strands from regrowth.
How the procedure is done?
RevLite SI treatment is relatively fast and easy. You just lie down and let the doctors work on your skin. If it’s your first time trying the treatment, you can consult with the dermatologist to determine your skin type and
any problems with your skin. Here are the most basic steps of the treatment.
STEP 1: CLEANSE THE SKIN
Cleansing is the first step of the treatment. They will remove all makeup from your face. Depending on your skin type, the practitioner might also exfoliate your skin. It is important to remove dead skin cells and other
impurities that clog the pores. This helps the laser penetrate your skin better.
STEP 2: MOISTURIZE SKIN
Moisturizing skin is the next step. The practitioner might apply serums and other products that contain active ingredients on the skin. This helps improve the natural healing process, which is stimulated by RevLite SI. It is important to restore moisture to the skin right after cleansing.
STEP 3: LASER TREATMENT
The third step is the RevLite SI laser treatment. If you haven’t tried the treatment before, it might feel painful but at a tolerable level. During the treatment, the laser passes all over the targeted area a couple of times. It
might take a few more passes on problem areas for the treatment to completely work.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies from patient to patient, but it’s usually completed within 6-8 sessions. Your practitioner will have a consultation with you before treatment to plan out what you need.
What should I expect during the treatment?
The treatment is virtually painless, but you might still feel slight stinging like rubber bands snapping against your skin. It’s not so painful that you’ll need analgesic creams. The pain is very mild and tolerable.
How long is the downtime?
There is no downtime to any RevLite SI procedure, though some patients may experience erythema that typically resolves within 24 hours.
When will I see the results?
Patients will start to see and feel results after treatment. However, the best results are usually seen for most unwanted pigments will significantly lighten or clear in 2-3 sessions.
Tips for post-treatment skincare
Use only gentle face wash for three days after the treatment.
Do not use toner or other strong skin care products that have whitening or bleaching ingredients.
Make sure that you apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every day to protect your skin from sun damage.
Avoid going to swimming pools, beaches, or spas for three days after treatment.
Use cold water when showering or washing your face. This helps prevent irritation in the treated area.
